Our Spring for Music Opportunities program opens the door to the joy of music for thousands of Rochester students. Since launching the program in , REF has seen a huge improvement in student musical opportunities for city students. Because of our donation of almost 3, used musical instruments from the community, students are no longer turned away from musical instrument instruction because of a lack of instruments. Musical instrument donations are tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law. What does this program do to make a difference? Our Spring for Music Opportunities program:. Eclectic and Independent Since 2008
Music is Art's most successful program is our instrument program. Since starting the program we have placed over a half million dollar's worth of musical instruments back into our community. We do this with the support of our generous community members. We accept new and used instruments year-round, have them repaired and refurbished and find them just the right home to continue to be used and loved. The only thing we don't accept are pianos and organs. Unfortunately there just isn't a demand for those.

At Hungry for Music, our mission is putting quality musical instruments into hungry hands. We serve children who demonstrate a desire to learn music, as well as teachers who have students willing to learn. We believe that by sharing instruments and musical experiences, children who would not otherwise have the opportunity can experience a kind of freedom and self-discovery that is often stifled in an atmosphere of economic hardship. We invite you to watch the video and see the transformative power of the gift of a musical instrument.
