The music industry is going through a drastic change again , and music streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music are the main reason. For a long time, Google Play Music GPM was a fan favorite; it afforded a host of features, including the ability to upload thousands of songs from your own music library for free and some great curated playlists to choose from. That said, it never became a dominant player, and is in fact, shuttering its doors in favor of YouTube Music.

A move to benefit YouTube
Don't worry, Google now has an easy way to move your music library, playlists and preferences over to YouTube's music streaming service. But YouTube Music recently unveiled a tool to help you transfer your entire library, profile and playlists from Google's streaming service into YouTube's revamped one with just one tap. YouTube Music is also getting some new features that may make it a bigger competitor to streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music.

For most Google Play Music subscribers, your monthly rate and billing details, including your billing date, will remain the same and transfer to YouTube Music.
